Information You Provide
Search Queries
When you type a name, location, or similar detail into a search box supplied by a third-party provider, that query is sent to the provider that operates the tool. This site does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us or send a message through a contact method, we use the information in that message to review and respond. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement makes disclosure necessary.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical information when a page loads.
- Your IP address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is passed to us.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site traffic, remember basic settings, support advertising, and improve performance. You can block cookies in your browser, but some site or partner features may behave differently when cookies are disabled.
How the Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, readable, and reasonably fast.
- To route search requests to the partner service that powers a search box.
- To understand which Santa Cruz County jail, court, and custody pages are useful to visitors.
- To diagnose errors, broken links, and technical problems.
- To display advertising that may be based on general browsing interests.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to sheriff pages, county public-records forms, Arizona court portals, ADCRR, BOP, ICE ODLS, VINELink, HomeWAV, and third-party search services. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy and terms of the destination site control your use of that service.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across different websites for ad measurement or interest-based advertising. That tracking is handled by those partners, not by a Santa Cruz County government agency.
Who May Receive Information
We do not sell personal data as a business record. Information may be available to the following limited categories when needed for the site to function or when the law requires it.
- Search partners that process queries submitted through their tools.
- Analytics providers that report traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that place or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security
We use ordinary safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access or misuse. No internet-connected site can be made completely secure, so we cannot promise that transmission or storage will be breach-proof.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, contact us through the Contacts page so it can be reviewed for deletion.
Your Data Rights
- You may ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- You may request correction of information that is inaccurate.
- You may ask that personal information be deleted when retention is not required.
- You may opt out of certain processing where an opt-out right applies.
Arizona public-records laws such as A.R.S. 39-121 and 39-121.01 govern access to government records held by public bodies. They do not make this private site the official source for Santa Cruz County jail, court, or sheriff records.
